[Brief] Why the police should use social media

Just a brief post to push for increased use of social media by UK police forces. There has been some great work by individuals (check out @hotelalpha9 and @Citycyclecop on Twitter for example) and forces (West Midlands Police have recently made a real push for social media, as well as use of their website to improve engagement with the public).

I strongly believe that the way we communicate with people needs to change, and whilst social media isn’t the whole answer, nor is it perfect, it cannot be ignored.
